Our Pastors
Pastor Jesse Jonhnston
1 Timothy 1:15 "Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners--of whom I am the worst."
My passion is sharing God's Word with people. Whomever you are; whatever you believe; I want to study the Bible with you. The answer to everything we need to know is in the Word. In the Scriptures, God reveals Christ Jesus as the sinner's Savior. Jesus is the firm foundation on which I am building my life together with my family. I grew up in Beverly Hills, Florida attending church and school at St. Paul's Lutheran. I traveled north to Watertown, Wisconsin for high school at Luther Preparatory School. Living in the dormitory surrounded by Christian friends and hearing God's Word every day in school and chapel was a faith-strengthening experience. Martin Luther College in New Ulm, Minnesota allowed continuation in studies and faith formation. During my school years, I liked fishing, backpacking, soccer, and wrestling. Along the way, I met and married Jessica Janke. Before becoming a full-time pastor, I worked mowing lawns, as a stucco laborer, packing products and meat, and as a finisher in a concrete light pole factory. I graduated from Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in 2011 and was called to serve Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Menasha, Wisconsin. My wife Jessica and I have four sons and two daughters: Micah, Luke, Esther, Isaac, Lydia, and Lazarus. In our free time, our family likes visiting High Cliff and Heckrodte parks, exploring the Wisconsin outdoors, dirt biking, playing board games, or cutting wood.
2 Corinthians 5:21 "God made Him Who had no sin to be sin for us so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God."

"Although I am less than the least of all the Lord's people, this grace was given me: to preach to others the unsearchable riches of Christ" (Ephesians 3:8).
I consider it the greatest privilege that not only has Jesus redeemed me from all sin, death and the devil by His death on the cross, but He has also given me the added privilege of sharing Christ with others as a pastor. I was raised in Kenosha, Wisconsin; and after graduation from seminary, I was united in marriage to Sandra Oswald. The Lord blessed our marriage with five children: Joseph, Heidi, Jennifer, Samuel and Isaac; and also six grandchildren. I like outdoor activities like hiking and camping; but my favorite past times are reading, studying and sharing God's Word with others; and spending time with my children and grandchildren. After serving congregations in Woodville and Fond du Lac, Wisconsin; Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; and Orlando, Florida; I retired in 2021 and now serve part-time at Mount Calvary. "Surely goodness and mercy have followed me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever" (Psalm 23:6).
